Traces at the Tampa Bay Straz Theater

We decided to have a family outing today-which is not an easy task when trying to find an activity that will interest three teenagers. I actually caught a commercial for this show and thought it would be a perfect day out for us. I was not disappointed…

The Tampa Performing Arts Center is  beautiful place to spend and afternoon. We found parking to be relatively easy by utilizing the Poe garage, and walking across the skywalk. The entrance to the box office was easy to locate, and our tickets were waiting for us at the will call area (thankfully we pre-ordered-the line was long to buy tickets).

We had sometime before the show and decided to get something to eat at the outdoor café.

Food was good but a bit pricey…(we do have a daughter in college).

On to the performance…

The website offers this description

Fusing the traditions of circus with the energy of street performance, the artists of TRACES employ every trick in the book — from music, dance, and illustration to skateboarding, basketball, and high-risk acrobatics —they unleash 90 minutes of heart-stopping acrobatics and unbridled energy that leave audiences breathless and exhilarated.

We were enthralled. The music created and exciting energy, which complemented the performance. The acrobatic skills and tricks were sensational to  watch. I highly recommend this show for all ages, but it has a young, hip, feel that definitely appeals to the younger generation.
